INTERVIEW with Madonna- 1984
In this interview with Madonna, she is very honest and seems true to her self. In the beginning she talks about how since she has became famous that she has so many more responsibilities. Before, all she had to worry about was "survival like what I was going to eat, and what I was going to wear when it got cold outside, and where I was going to live" but after she had to make sure she stayed on top of her staff and made sure everyone got payed and that she had it all under control. She felt a very big change from the simple life to the life of a star.
She then moves on to talk about her next album. What she said about it was "the new album is a lot more grown up than the first album. It is a lot more well rounded, style wise." She feels like the second album shows her growth as a singer and song writer. After a while the reporter asks her about her coming to New York and what she was wanting to find. Her response was "fame and fortune." This lead into talking about her acting and how acting is tough. At the time she was working in a movie called "Despretly Seeking Susan," playing Susan. She explains that she had to switch and build up emotions out of sequence. She points out a lot how acting is hard work and how its new to her but she likes challenges. At the end of the interview she says two phrases that really stand out. The first one is " I couldn't begin to tell you what the world doesn't see in me right now is a million things." The second one is "What I want to achieve is... I want to conquer the world." I feel like she has shown who she really is since the 80's and that she has conquered the world.
